EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing, is a therapy used to treat trauma-related disorders. It involves focusing on the traumatic memory while simultaneously engaging in rhythmic eye movements or tapping.

This combination helps the brain process the traumatic memory differently, reducing its emotional impact and allowing the person to move forward. EMDR has been shown to be effective for conditions such as PTSD, anxiety, and depression that stem from traumatic experiences.
